This is a very thick, rounded heavy paddle in dark reddish brown, tight grained wood was specifically designed for paddling in the very stormy waters near these islands, Kitdīt or Vester Ejland.  This area is on the western most southern area of Disko Bay.

Rounded cross section with 0.8 cm groves for bone butted against the rounded wood shaft,

very square loom,
